posted June 23, 2016 11:02 AM I've been using PowerTCP/ActiveX for many years, however when attempting to install my product on Windows 7 64 bit, I get the License Not Found Message from PowerTCP. I've attempted to create the license registry key manually as well as copy from a working Win7 32-bit environment. Neither is recognized. Any hints would be appreciated. |

posted June 23, 2016 12:45 PM Nick, thanks for your reply. I installed the new version of the Dartsock & Dartweb in the runtime environment. I updated the License key in the registry and now am receiving the same error as before. "PowerTCP License Not Found: A license for the PowerTCP Hppt component was not found on this machine..." I'm assuming the new version is a drop-in replacement. What could be preventing the new license from being recognized? |

posted June 23, 2016 12:51 PM Did you recompile your application? (Unless this is scripted code?) |

posted June 23, 2016 1:02 PM One of the Features of ActiveX is that programming interface remains the same across different versions. New versions, by design, should be drop-in replacements, as I understand it. Is there any reason this should not be the case with Dartweb? |

posted June 23, 2016 1:12 PM For the current version of Web Tool/ActiveX, can I assume the registration process works as in previous versions? i.e. Create Registry key: HKLM\Software\Dart\PowerTCP\License\Web Tool with serial number Is this correct? Or am I required to now use the Dart License Registration Utility which appears to be new ? Thanks, |

posted June 23, 2016 1:19 PM The license is compiled into the application, so you should recompile your application since the license was likely not compiled in the previous time. The registration process was never to manually create a registry key (only when distributing scripted/ASP code); you should always use and follow the steps outlined in the registration utility to install your license on a new machine. Additionally, the registration information that is placed in the registry for each machine is different. |

posted June 23, 2016 1:29 PM I was instructed to create the registry key as noted in the Dart web forum: http://support.dart.com/postings?topicid=3197&search=1 Is this still a valid way to license the product? Many thanks |

posted June 23, 2016 3:31 PM For scripted/ASP code it is, however we are not familiar with your environment. The distribution help topic has been updated for 64-bit machines though; the license information should be installed to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Dart/PowerTCP/License" on 64-bit systems. |
