currently your ftp control does not support connecting through socks 4/5 proxies (unless there's something undocumented) and i was wondering if and when this feature would be implemented. Since my clients connect through a socks 4 proxy for their normal transactions i would very much like to keep this feature in the new version. thanx alot for your help tony, great set of tools you have here!

Thank you for the suggestion. You are correct, the control currently does not support socks 4/5. We are currently looking at what types of enhanced Proxy functionality we should add to the control. Any time we examine new functionality, we have to look at what the users and customers require for their solutions. Part of this is getting as much feedback as possible. Ironically, we are attempting to determine whether there is enough interest in socks to warrant adding support, as socks-based proxies seem to be legacy solutions. Any input you and other users provide will help us in that decision. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

I was told last week that socks WAS supported (By Ken) in reply to that specific question - I wasted 3.5 days trying to get it to work.
Got a feeble apology (and I'm $1000 poorer - fixed price job) - but why do you say in the literature that this comp is designed to work with all proxies, when it was known internally that it does not work with socks?
In Europe the state could prosecute you for that claim.
Your literature STILL says the same.

PS - Here socks 5 is on the ascendant (I have an installed base of 1,600 implementations)
