Hi,

I noticed in the updates section it's mentioned that the webserver tool can now be installed on win98 as long as you follow the instructions first in the setup program.

I've read the knowledgebase article and added ,schannel.dll to the end of the string in the necessary key but even after rebooting, every time I run the setup program it tells me I need to follow the instructions again. Is there anything else I need to do.

I'm running IE5.5

I just can't seem to progress from that dialog box warning me about the security upgrade requirement.

I'd like to try out this control before contemplating a purchase so any help getting it working would be appreciated.

Thanks
Geoff

Did you run DSCLIENT?

Thanks,

I hadn't.. i'm downloading it now though..

So, even though I'm not running windows 2000, I still need the dsclient from it so I can install this? Is this going to be a dependency later. eg. On any program I write that uses the webserver control, These changes to the registry and the dsclient will need to be installed on the end users machines? Or is this just a one of thing to get the thing installed?

BTW.. I actually don't want to use the ssl :)

Thanks
Geoff

That's correct. In order to install the tool you need DSCLIENT installed. If your app does not use SSL then your clients will not have to go through that.
