posted January 21, 2019 7:18 AM Hello, I'm new to both SNMP and PowerSNMP libraries. We will be designing a system with the following specifications and I would like to know if this is doable using your PowerSNMP: - We need to design 1 software application (Win 10) that is at the same time SNMP manager and agent. - Manager part: should be able to query info from a specific network with a specific IP range. - Agent part: should be able to respond to requests from an external manager on a totally different network - Obviously the PC running this app should have two IPs - This application should be able to transfer information retrieved from multiple SNMP agents on a given network (SNMP manager part) and make it available (SNMP agent part) to another NMS on a different network. This is a global picture of what we intend to do, and -of course- the devil is in the details. Is this doable using your PowerSNMP .NET libraries (Manager/Agent)? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance! |

posted January 21, 2019 3:39 PM Thank you for your interest in Dart's PowerSNMP for .NET product! Yes, that all is doable with PowerSNMP for .NET. Beyond examining our help documentation for the code examples: http://dotnet.dart.com/help/psnet/webframe.html#Code%20Examples.html I'd recomend this code example for a start for the last point (for dynamically responding to Manager requests for Agents on a separate network, instead of storing the information locally): http://dotnet.dart.com/help/psnet/webframe.html#Replace%20a%20Value%20in%20the%20Agent's%20Response.html Please know you have access to free technical support during your trial period. If you have any questions or trouble, you may post here or to ensure the quickest reply, email support@dart.com. I look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Jamie |
