posted March 9, 2017 6:01 AM Hello, I tried to configure email (over gmail). I pressed option "gmail" from "Common Servers" drop-down list. When traps are coming to the "Traps/Informs" window - I can see them, but there are no emails about this. Also I tried to listen for network packets to gmail by Wireshark and I didn't notice attempts to even connect to gmail smtp. Could you please advice what am I doing worng here? |

posted March 14, 2017 11:16 AM Thank you for your post. Did you configure a watch for the trap (emails are not sent out for every trap received, only specific traps that are watched for)? How long are you waiting for the email to be sent out? The application is designed to only send emails once every minute, to limit potential spam. Please also note that you may need to follow the instructions here for the email to be sent out successfully: http://support.dart.com/postings?topicid=8733 If you have a trap watch configured for the specific trap, and the email is not sent out after 3 minutes, please let us know. |

However no luck, there is not outgoing connection to smtp.gmail.com:587 from my PC (SSL connectioned was auto-filled by app, when I pressed option "gmail" from "Common Servers" drop-down list. Any thoughts? |

I did not work with gmail, so i created another account on outlook.com - there is not much to configure so i´m running out of possibilities. I always receive the sam error on logging-window: 12.09.2017 15:56:31 An attempt to send an alert email failed: Ein Verbindungsversuch ist fehlgeschlagen, da die Gegenstelle nach einer bestimmten Zeitspanne nicht richtig reagiert hat, oder die hergestellte Verbindung war fehlerhaft, da der verbundene Host nicht reagiert hat 40.101.125.2:587 In english that means: A connection attempt failed because the remote did not respond properly after a certain period of time, or the established connection was faulty because the connected host did not respond could somone help me further? i do get the right live-values from my ACP to PowerSNMP - only the last step (sending emails) ain´t working BR Mkay |

posted September 27, 2017 2:56 PM Hi Jamie! Thanks for your reply - but i feel more comfortable here :-D In meanwhile i could solve the problem :-) I already get alertmails. But there is one more itzybitzy little thing - when solved, things are perfect and we´re gonna use it. Is there a way to edit a custom text for the email like "The Systemstate has changed, please check your power supply" or anything else than this standardtext(email will be read by non-technical persons). br MKay |
