Version 2.8.5.0

I was wondering if there is any way to test for the cause of a disconnection?

Such as if it was the host or the client side
If it was Internet related.
If it was a socket malfunction
etc...

My Clients are constantly reporting disconnect problems.

Ive ruled out the Host as the problem. A client will be connected to the host for aprox 2 hours sending small amounts of information back and forth. The client may disconnect sometimes 30 or 45 minutes later unexpectedly. It varies. There is no code telling the client to close the connection.
I have written a "Reconnect" routine that will try to reconnect to the same Host when disconnected but it fails to reconnect.

Most are using Windows 7 and above.
Is the OS the cause?
Will 2.10.2 help fix this?
What settings can i sign that may assure a strong or better connection?
Any help or direction would be appreciated.

For now I'm stuck using VB6 and Active X but have plans to rewrite my entire application in .Net

Thank you for your post and continued use of Dart's PowerTCP Winsock for ActiveX product!

As the version you are using is quite dated, I would first recommend you download and test the current version to see if any of the released updates have resolved your problem. If not, please send a small, self contained sample, with duplication instructions (using the most recent version) to support@dart.com for testing.

Here is a link to the current trial: http://www.dart.com/winsock-activex-trial.aspx

If the current version resolves your issue, please contact sales@dart.com to find out how to obtain a copy of this release.

Regards,
Jamie
