I have a recreatable problem where I get a GPF when I set the HTTP.Url property to a string greater than 1068 characters long.

It seems like I'm just over flowing the buffer space allocated for the URL property. What is the max URL length supposed to be? I'm working with some really long URL's so the longer you can make it the better.

It appears that the limit is 1019.
I'll submit a bug report.

Thanks.

Tony,

According the RFC for HTTP there is no max limit on the size of a URL. For my project 4k would be a good number. Check out this link for the RFC info:

http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec3.html#sec3.2

The second paragraph under the section "General Syntax" is the one you want.

I have version 1.0.41.0 of the HTTP control. How / when will this bug fix be made available to me? Will it be available as a no cost download?

You can always get the latest version of the tool at:

I checked the database, and the bug has been reported. There is no timetable as to its fix, however.
