We are currently evaluating the ActiveX mail component because we are looking for a replacement of our currently used one. One of the final two candidates is the one from Dart. During the tests we faced a login problem:

Error 10060 by Smtp.Login("ourMailServer")

A trace shows:
Received: 220 ourMailServer Ready
Sent: EHLO ourWorkStation
Received: 250-ourMailServer
250-AUTH LOGIN
250-8BITMIME
250-SIZE
250 DSN

The mail server is configured to accept connections without authentification and the connect works fine with our currently used product and with a competitor.
If we use the login method and include valid username and password it works.
Any ideas why the simple login fails?

I am experiencing the same issue. We are using an old version of the MailTool but I have upgraded to the latest Trial version. We are deciding whether to purchase the upgrade or go with another tool. We are happy with the tool but need to figure out this issue to go forward. Thanks

I'm having the same issue when I upgraded to 2.11.4 from an older version. 10060 timeout error. Is there a fix?

Thank you for your post. This issue should be resolved in the current version of PowerTCP Mail for ActiveX. Please download a free trial to use for testing.

If your issue is resolved with the new version you may contact sales@dart.com for information on how to upgrade. If not, please let me know and I will be happy to look into your issue further.
