posted April 1, 2014 11:37 AM Hi, I am a newbie here. Could someone please answer this question for me? I have a windows 7 box which is going to be the SNMP agent. How do I configure the SNMP service for V3 on Win7? Is it supported at all or not? If not can I just use PowerSnmp to handle all the traps and totally bypass using SNMP service or it's equivalent? Thanks in advance !! |

posted April 1, 2014 11:59 AM Hello, I'm sorry, we are unable to provide assistance with the use of third-party applications such as the Windows 'SNMP Service' service and 'SNMP Trap' service; please contact Microsoft for assistance with their use. Our component is compatible with the Windows SNMP service and SNMP Trap service. PowerSNMP can be used to replace the Windows SNMP services; our Agent class can be used to replicate the functionality of the 'SNMP Service' service and replace it, and our Manager class can be used as a trap catcher to replicate the functionality of the 'SNMP Trap' service and replace it. Please see our included Agent and Trap Catcher samples for a demonstration of their use in these roles. |
