When I try to open(ftp.connect) an FTP connection it works just fine when I am on a fixed line internet connection to the switch. The PC can be connected via cable or wirelessly to the switch that makes no difference.
But if I try and do it through a 3G router/switch, tried two different types/makes, I get the following error on the ftp.connect

Error:
Unexpected EOF encountered on TCP socket connection

I have not changed any timeout properties and I am doing everything as simple as possible.
Web sites like BBC, Google etc. all load as you would expect over a 3G connection so there is a whole through to the big world.

I have tried with different PC configurations and switch setups but it’s always the same.

In simple words. Works with fixed line internet connection but not over 3G

A little side note.

Any communication via web services(.NET) works a treat over 3G through the same application

From what I can tell this would occur if the connection is being accepted and then closed with no data being read.

I would try with our sample app and turn on logging and see if any data is sent or received.
