Author | Forum: PowerTCP Emulation for .NET Topic: Background color affects blinking text? |

posted February 24, 2011 1:37 PM I've had a support call from one of my users reporting that blinking text is not working. While testing I discovered that it works fine if I configure the control to use a black background and white foreground. My application currently uses white (system color "Window") background and black (system color "WindowText") foreground. In that configuration blinking doesn't work at all. However, in that configuration if I select blinking text using the mouse, I can see it blinking from white to light grey, so I do know that the escape codes are being recognized. Is there a way of getting blink to work with a white background and black text, or do I need to use a black background to get this to work? |

posted February 24, 2011 4:52 PM Thank you for your post. Have you tried modifying the BlinkIntensity property? We normally support only the current version of each product, however, you may contact sales@dart.com directly if additional assistance is required for the previous version. ------ |

posted February 24, 2011 5:31 PM I have tried quite a number of values for the BlinkIntensity property with no luck. I hadn't investigated the possibility of upgrading. I'll do that now. |

posted March 2, 2011 11:54 AM I wanted to check on your evaluation progress. Have you had a chance to test the new version? Are you experiencing the same issue or has it been resolved? Thank you. |

posted March 15, 2011 4:49 PM Sorry for the late reply. I have not yet had a chance to test the newer version. For now I have simply changed the color scheme in my client to have white text agaist a black background, which seems to resolve the problem. My customer told me they don't really care what the color scheme is as long as they can see the blinking. I may investigate the newer version of the control, but that will have to wait for a while as I'm currently in the process of finalizing a new version of our product. Thanks for your help. |
