When I connect to an FTPS server with DART SSL FTPS ActiveX I get the message:

521 PROT P required

What does this mean?

Hello,

This indicates that your server requires the Data Connection Security Negotiation to use Private. See the RFC for more details: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc4217.html

The latest version of our FTP control (which includes security) will automatically send the PROT P command if Authentication is set to atExplicitNormal, atSecureData, atImplicitNormal, or atImplicitLogin. If you are interested in upgrading, please contact sales@dart.com

Depending on your version of our control, you may be able to send this before any data port is opened to use PROT P (and Authentication is set to any of the aforementioned values):
SecureFtp1.Command "PBSZ 0", result
SecureFtp1.Command "PROT P", result

-Non-current subscribers must contact sales@dart.com to update subscription and receive continued support as needed.
