posted December 5, 2010 7:30 AM We're using PowerTCP FTP for ActiveX on a PowerBuilder environment for adding a FTP module to our Application. we upgraded our lisense of to version 2.1.0.1 on the target machine [runTime environment] we get a message "501 Syntax Error". the files are transfered to the FTP Server, everything looks fine, but we're still getting the error message inside the app window. What's wrong? Thanks |

posted December 6, 2010 2:56 PM Hello, More information is needed to determine what's wrong, please send in a log (like what is shown in the status log window of the Ftp ListView client sample) of the ftp transfer that demonstrates the issue to support@dart.com |

posted December 6, 2010 4:57 PM I'm sorry, I misspoke, please send in a tracelog file, similar to the 'PowerTCP FTP Listview Client.log' file produced by the trace method in the Ftp ListView client sample |

posted December 8, 2010 3:28 AM ok, the Error code is 501, but behind the scene there is another error code: '11101'. in the documentation i s writen that this code can be agnored... and that we should drop tha message box if it is shown up. it doesn't bother us, and transfer is ok so we just donn't pay attention to it, unless you say that there *is* a problem. thanks |

posted December 8, 2010 8:53 AM Sorry, where in the documentation does it say this? Do you get the same error when connecting to your server with our FTP ListView client sample? Do you get the same error when connecting to a different server with your application? If you get the same error from our FTP ListView client, then it would appear there's some issue with your server's ftp software, and the error can probably be safely ignored. If you get the error when connecting to any server, then there may be an issue with the application, though if the files upload correctly, it may be not be entirely necessary to fix it. |
