posted September 25, 2008 3:30 PM I have recently setup a second machine for development running Vista Premium. I installed my license successfully for Dart as i can have it on 2 computers as per your instructions. Loaded Visual Studio 2008 and tried to compile my project but got the error "Exception occurred creating type 'Dart.PowerTCP.Sockets.Tcp, Dart.PowerTCP.Sockets, Version=1.0.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5966291b8955e4bb' System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: Sockets for .NET has not been installed. You must install either the 30-day trial or the fully licensed product to use this product (available from http://dart.com). I know it is installed and licensed so what could the problem be? Thanks! |

posted July 6, 2010 12:09 AM Same problem here, after installing Windows 7 and trying to rebuild a project using PowerTCP Sockets. Also, I think I lost one of my two permitted installations by doing this, even though I had de-licensed before I formatted the machine. |

posted October 28, 2010 8:35 AM The solution to this was to install the dart components "as administrator" - if you do a regular install it doesn't register correctly. You should be able to just right mouse click and "run as administrator" on the installer. That worked for me and is what support sugge |

posted October 29, 2010 6:15 AM I'm really grateful for your advice, which worked as suggested. I was facing the nightmare scenario of having to rewrite our app to use the latest dll, which no longer uses the event driven approach we rely on. Many thanks! |

posted October 29, 2010 10:54 AM Thank you for the helpful information. Please note that you may find older product versions to be incompatible with new operating systems. Although we always recommend upgrading to the most recent version, you may try resolving this issue as suggested above. Please contact sales@dart.com if you are interested in upgrading your Dart product(s) to the most recent version or if your issue has not been resolved. Thank you! |
