I'm pulling my hair out with this one. I have a VB.NET (VS2005) application that utilizes the PowerTCP Telnet class libraries. I've rebuilt, compiled, and installed the application on a few laptops (all Windows XP SP2 with .NET 2.0 FW) and it runs great. But on a few other laptops with the same OS and .NET configurations, I get an error when the application launches: "Provider Load Failure"... the application will load but none of the Telnet functionality will work.

I have the Dart.PowerTCP.Telnet.dll in the application directory. I've tried re-installing the .Net framework on these machines, but no luck.

Any ideas on what this error is or how to fix it? (My apologies that it is such a vague error, but that's all I have to work with at this point)

Thanks so much!

A quick search on google showed that this error message is usually associated with WMI not being correctly configured on a machine reporting the error.

You should probably try re-registering and failing that rebuilding the WMI.

Here is a link to try and resolve this issue:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/help/wmi.mspx#E2GAC

Let me know if this resolves the issue, As far as I know we haven't had a report of this issue before, but I'd like to make a note of it for future reference if this helps.

Thanks!
