posted January 2, 2008 3:34 PM I am trying to run a command and I keep getting an exception "Command too long". Through trail and error I have found that about 1580 character string can be used for the command. I need about 3100. Is there a setting that I can set or change to make this happen. Thanks Jeff |

posted January 7, 2008 10:55 AM Amit, Hello. Well I was wondering if error was being through by the server myself, but was unable to figure out how to debug that. After reading many man pages this seems to be a setting on the server. I believe it is the set in the limits.h file under the constant ARG_MAX. Changes to this for me would require a recompile of our kernel, so I have gone a different route and am putting the data in a table as it should have been from the beginning. So you can consider this closed. Thanks Jeff |
