Does anyone know how to simulate the authentication popup box that can occur when trying to view a protected file/folder using IIS but using the webserver control instead?

Hello Chris,

Regards from Dart Technical Support.

With regards to the query I would like to inform you that you may use any third party control to make any file protected. However if the file is placed in the root directory of the Webserver, it would not be showing the Authentication box as this is related to IIS settings, however when this file is placed in the wwwroot directory and browsed using IE, the authentication box would pop.

So in order to achieve the desired, you would need to manually code to check for the authentication for the file/folder being browsed and validate it.

I hope this addresses your inquiries.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Arjun
