Occasionally a customer will have a problem with "scrambled" or out-of-order text. If the customer closes the window and reopens (so the containing form is hidden and then shown) the text redisplays correctly. So all the text in the control is correct, but displayed incorrectly.

Any suggestions on a fix?

I could not re-produce the problem, please provide me exact steps to duplicate the behavior.

I hope you have the latest builds.

The exact steps would be hard to recreate. I cannot duplicate the problem here. The particular customer's PC is running WinXP SP2. The VT tool's version is 1.8.3.0. The application was written in VB6.

The text from our tech support group is here:
-----------
When issuing a System2 command through the chat window, the system displays the information in the wrong order and it appears to be scrambled. However, if I close the chat window without disconnecting from the FSC and reopen it, the information that was displaying incorrectly appears fine. I temporarily setup a Hyperterminal session on the customer’s desktop to connect to the FSC as a workaround.
-----------

Glossary:

Chat Window - part of our application. Uses the VT tool to emulate a terminal. Written in VB6.

System2/FSC - our embedded device. Communicates through a serial port, modem, or over the network to our application.

My guess is that it's a display driver problem, as all the text is in the VT tool. It redisplays correctly. Maybe if I just issue a repaint?

Hi Tom,

If only a repaint of the screen resolves the issue, I do not think it’s in the control. However, there is a new build available (1.9.0.0), my suggestion would be to try that and see if that helps!
It will be hard to suggest anything more, as we do not have exact steps to reproduce the problem.

Raj
