We have a service that runs on many different systems correctly, but on some it gives this error. On the boxes that don't work, if I change the service to run as administrator (or other) account instead of the local system account, it works. It appears related to Windows Domain. I have two boxes I am currently working with, one is 2003 Server R2, the other XP Pro SP2. Any light shed on the 12057 Miscellaneous Error would be greatly appreciated.

Can you check with Microsoft, if they are aware of any issues with such a configuration? If you can replicate the issue, and give me exact steps, I can try looking more into this... Thanks, Raj
