posted August 29, 2006 4:16 PM We have built an application based on your OTP sample and are getting transfer rates of around 66k/sec. I realize it is dependant on line speeds etc but what are some ways we can go about speeding transfers up? Are there settings within the control? Should we binary encode everything? Is there a faster approach? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

posted August 30, 2006 10:03 AM Hi Rob, There are no settings in OTP sample that would help. However, you may try changing the sizes of the buffers that are sent; probably this was optimized when this app was written. OTP itself, is based on TCP to implement object Transfer. You may try creating and implementing your own protocol, as per your requirements; to see if you get a better speed. Thanks, Raj |
