Guys....

Here's a weird one. I have a directory with a very large number of files, just over 225,000.

The list command returns the correct number of files in the directory, but when I cycle through the list.name to retrieve the file names, at some point it will start repeating the names. I seems like there is some upper limit to how many filenames are supported, above which it loops back to the start of the list. Another tool I have does the same thing, however FileZilla correctly displays them. I don't know the exact number it starts repeating at, I will try to figure that out.

Thoughts?

Hello Dan,

Regarding the query, I would appreciate if you could let us know let us know whether you are using a trial version of the product, and if not, which licensed version of the product do you have running?

Also, I have not been able to replicate the said scenario at my end. I would request you to please provide us the following information to narrow down the issue further:

(1) Are you able to replicate the said scenario by running our ListView sample. This sample is located at the following default location:

 C:\Program Files\PowerTCP\FTP Tool\Samples\Vb6\ListView

(2) Please provide us the Trace Log for further review. You may create a Trace log using the Trace method. The syntax for this method is as follows:

Object.Trace [ Result ] [ , Send ] [ , Receive ] [ , SendPrompt ] [ , ReceivePrompt

(3) Is there a way you can provide access to us on this FTP Server. If you are not looking to provide this information in forum, then please send a mail to support@dart.com with this information.

Any further information to isolate the issue would be highly appreciated.

Have a nice day.

Best Regards,
Amit

Hi Amit...

Sorry for the very slow response. The listview tool doesn't appear to have that problem. (though since it doesn't sort, sorting through 250,000 files looking for duplicates isn't easy.)

I'll look at the code to see if there is something odd with the way I'm doing this that is causing it to repeat.

Thanks!

Hello Dan,

Thanks for writing back.

It is nice to hear that the ListView sample is able to retrieve the entire listings.

Do let us know if you require further assistance/ clarifications.

Regards,
Amit
