posted August 22, 2006 2:35 PM I have been using your socket control on a trial basis, purchased the control today and got the serial number. Added it to the machine and start up Visual Studio 2005 which my apps are built in but they still say i need to purchase the component or expire in 2 days. How do i update my licence? Thanks |

posted August 22, 2006 4:06 PM Hello, Regarding the query, I would request you to please follow the following steps: (1) Please make sure that you have successfully licensed your development machine. (2) Open your existing application and then rebuild the project (not the solution) (3) A licenses.licx file must also be included with each project in order for the application to compile. Typically, this will automatically be created by Visual Studio .NET when dragging a component onto the form. The only exceptions to this are when the component is being used as a reference within Visual Studio .NET or when the component is being used outside of Visual Studio .NET. In these situations, a licenses.licx file must be explicitly created and added to the project. To create a licenses.licx file, use the following steps (This example demonstrates using the Tcp component). (1) Start a new application in Visual Studio .NET and add the Tcp component as a reference. (2) In the Solution Explorer, right-click the project name, choose Add, then Add New Item. (3) From the resulting dialog box, choose Text File and name the file "licenses.licx". Click Open. (4) Type the following in the licenses.licx file Dart.PowerTCP.Sockets.Tcp, Dart.PowerTCP.Sockets and then save the file. You should now be able to compile and run a project that uses the Tcp component as a reference I hope this will be of help. Have a nice day. Best Regards, Amit |
