Hi,
I wrote a VB App to replace our current emulation package (Hostaccess) using PowerTCP.
It works as expected in my development environment but,
in production, we are experiencing a couple of issues:
 - from time to time, the users complain about the slow respond time. Slow, of course, is subjective but the facts remain, for the same operation, it is slower than the previous emulation package.
 - from time to time, keystrokes will not echo to the screen until a few seconds later (2 to 5) and then instead of one key, a slew of digits will be echoed, producing undesirable effects.

Production environment is Citrix Server running Win 2003 Server and Wise Terminals

This is my best attempt at describing the problems I'm facing.

Any help or suggestion appreciated

Jm

Hi,
First, are you using a trial version of the product?
If not, which licensed version of the product do you have running?

I would surmise that the Citrix environment has much to do with these problems.
If the app is actually installed on local machines, does the same behavior occur?

Unfortunately, I do not have much to offer as far as improving the performance in a Citrix environment.

If it works ok on the local machine, it would seem that the delay is during the data transfer from Citrix server to client machine.

Sorry I don't have more,

Is it possible that the AutoRepeat property is causing this?

DartSock.dep: 4/23/04
DartSock.dll: 6/29/2006 - 2.8.2.0
DartTelnet.dep: 4/23/04
DartTelnet.dll: 6/29/2006 - 1.8.2.0
DartTelnet.oca: 6/29/2006
DartVT.dep: 4/23/04
DartVT.dll: 6/29/2006 - 1.8.3.0
DartVT.oca: 6/29/2006

That's what's in my system32 folder.
Is there an update somewhere I didn't see?

Thanks,
Jm

Hi Jm,
Yes, it is possible AutoRepeat is the cause of the repeated digits, but not the cause of the delay.

Rather, it is probably an effect of the delay.
The lack of feedback on the screen could induce the user to keep a key pressed for a length of time.
