posted June 29, 2006 8:39 AM I am building a class library that uses the PowerTCP.Sockets.Tcp class. I have included the license.licx file in the project as an embedded resource. The project doesn't compile. I get the following error. C:\SmartlaunchWebInterface\licenses.licx Could not transform licenses file 'licenses.licx' into a binary resource. (1) : error LC0004 : Exception occured creating type 'System.ComponentModel.LicenseException' The only way we can get the SmartlaunchWebInterface class to build is in debug mode, if we remove the licenses.licx file or clear its contents. If we remove the licenses.licx file and build a release version, then an exception occurs due to the missing license. I am not building the class library on the same machine on which I installed the product. But I included the Dart component in the project's bin directory. |

posted June 29, 2006 4:24 PM Hello, I have read your query and it is my understanding that you are getting an error message while compiling the application. If this is the said scenario, then please note that generally this error message means that there is no license or trial license on the machine you are building your application. I would suggest you to check whether a license for the control is present on the machine where you are looking to compile the application. Regarding the distribution of an application, please note that you may distribute the application to as many end user systems as you wish. There are no restrictions on executables, however there are restrictions on libraries (ocx, dll). If a library is developed with the Tool, then the ocx or dll could only be used by developers that have a license for the PowerTCP Tool I hope this will be of help. In case of further assistance/ clarifications, please feel free to write back and I would be glad to assist you. Have a nice day ahead. Best Regards, Amit |
