posted June 22, 2006 1:45 PM This may not strictly be a problem with the WebServer Tool, but when serving HTTP documents one is supposed to set an explicit charset, either in the real server headers or the meta http-equiv element. This forum is not doing so, and, as I had the fallback character set UTF-8, properly accented Quebec, apparently from someone using ISO 8859/1 (or ...15 or Windows-1252) as their default, came out with Chinese characters. See, for example, topic 5094, with UTF-8 as default. |
