My client has a license and it is installed on the machine that the program is getting built on however everytime we rebuild the project and then publish the program, it still continues to says "Your trial will expire in....". I am not sure what we are doing wrong. We have selected rebuild by right clicking on the project name in VB 2005 and the rebuild completes. Is there a special DLL we dhould direct the program too? WE have tried everything we can think off.

You may have to build the runtime license. Try right-clicking on the reference to our DLL in the solution explorer, then select "Build Runtime Licenses", then rebuild your project and redeploy.

Ok I am trying what you said but I do not see an option that says "Build Runtime Licenses" anywhere. I have tried right clicking on the DLL under references under the solution explorer but the only two options that I see are View in object browser, Remove and Properties. How do I rebuild these licenses?

Thanks!

Sorry, I meant to say click the licenses.licx file, not the reference. If you don't see the licx file, click "Show All Files" in the Solution Explorer.

Ok I see that file however I still do not see any opetion to "Build Runtime Licenses". The only information within the file is this line...

Dart.PowerTCP.Telnet.Telnet, Dart.PowerTCP.Telnet

If I right click on the file in the solutions explorer the only options I get are:
Open, Cut, Copy, Delete, Rename and Properties.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I have tried everything I can think off... I do not see any other way to build this application or rebuild any sort of liceneses. This is what is contained within that license file:

Dart.PowerTCP.Telnet.Telnet, Dart.PowerTCP.Telnet, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5966291b8955e4bb

If I check the registered products it shows we are licensed. I do not understand what we are doing wrong here....

Any idea?

The only thing I can think of is that you aren't really rebuilding the app like you think. Have you tried deleting your project output to make absolutely sure it's being rebuilt?

Have you tried creating a brand new project with a Telnet control on the form and seeing if that works?

I give up! We have tried everything. I have tried clearing the output folders and everything... Same results everytime. I mean the only way around it is too change the system date but who wants to do that everytime. Something is just not right. We are just going to have to use another module from someplace else. This one just does not seem to work right. When ever I run the register program it shows clear as a bell that the product is registered so I don't know whats going on. This thing was a little expensive though to have do this in the end.

I just also tried starting a whole new project and placing the control on the project and the same results! It still thinks its in trial for some reason.

OK! I think I found the issue... :-)

The product they have registered shows as "Telnet Tool" however the product we are using in the application is Telnet for .NET which from what I can see on the web site is not the same thing which is why it still comes up as trial... correct?

Thanks!

That's correct. They are two different products. You'll have to contact whoever you purchased it from for options.
