posted May 5, 2006 9:28 AM Hi, After successfully compiling the devices mibs into my manager object how can you do/tell the following: 1. When I receive a trap/notification: a) What the name of the trap was that I received? (I don't see where this is done in any of the samples). b) What version of trap I am receiving? c) How do I translate the OID of each of the traps message variable's to get the name of the trap? 2. When attempting to do a get, what is really the major difference between the SendSingleRequest and the SendMultipleRequests subroutines? Could I just add all of the OID's I needed to the AddVariable function and send out one query? Is the Manager.send event blocking? What if the device doesn't support features like GetBulk or GetNext, will the AddVariable method of retrieving data still work? 3. Some devices do not respond to a GET query with a ".0" at the end. Some respond with a ".1" at the end or nothing at all. Is that standard? Thanks. |
