Hello,

I am attempting to connecting to a TELNET session with PowerTCP and sending a "device name" along with it. A little detail of my problem:

I am currently connecting to a TELNET session hosted by the AS/400 as an unnamed device, and the new spec requires the TELNET session sends a device name with it. I understand that other TELNET clients used by the client I am working for currently sends a device name with each TELNET connection. The device name is used with the AS/400 as a security measure.

Is there a way to perform this function?

Thanks,
Victor

I'm not exactly sure. It's probably an option that needs to be negotiated prior to connect. If so, you can use the Client / Server options properties to set it. The problem is I don't know what option to tell you to set.

I searched Google and got about 400 hits, so you might want to start there. Here is the link if you want it:

Thanks a bunch Tony! Once I got it working, I will return back and share the knowledge base.
