posted January 18, 2006 9:55 AM I am experiencing a problem with running the Telnet object (compiled into a PowerBuilder Application) through CITRIX server and when accessing through other accounts. The software is installed using InstallShield express 11 by an Administrator on Windows Server 2003. DartSock.dll and DartTelnet.dll are both installed properly to the System32 directory. When any other user tries to access the software they get the message Error Accessing External Property Timeout (when I set the timeout on the control to 0). This happens to be the first access to the object (it happended on trace when I enabled that as the first object access). Have tried setting permissions on the object to Read for all users, but it does not make any difference. Is there something in the licensing or registry that restricts access to the Dart DLLs based on who installed it? How can I get this to allow all authenticated users to execute the software and thus access the Telnet control? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

posted January 18, 2006 10:46 AM No, there would not be anything we do to prevent this. If the user has admin rights does it work? You might want to try putting all the DLLs in a directory with relaxed permissions and registering them there. If that works, then you should contact Installshield support to find out if there is something special you need to do. |
