I 've made a replication program that is running.
Now and then the procedure stops with the error ;
 12007 - The server name could not be resolved.
I have tried to adjust the timeout - property.
The servername (URL) is read from a setup file, and is not changed (normally the replication works fine). What is the main reason for this error ?? (Where do I look ??). The time out has been changed from 60000 to 75000.
I use DartSock.dll version 2.8.0.8 /DartWeb.dll version 1.8.0.4

It means that a DNS query was made and no answer was given. What happens if you try the same URL later? Maybe your DNS server is having trouble?

As it is a replication going on in a predefined sequence, it will go on again and again at certain intervals. Most of the time everything works fine, but now and then it fails. The people running the web-hotel (target web server) tells everything works ok - at their side.
Should I try to increase the timeout property even more ?? Can this be a problem with the internet connection or whatever ??

It's probably a problem with the DNS server responsible for resolving names on your network. Maybe it senses too much activity and blocks you? Just a guess.

Ah, my users get this all the time when Win XP Firewall or Norton Internet Security is blocking access.
