The client app is in VB6 using the Winsock Tool for TCP connections. Two different problems occur, with multiple timeout values having been tried (except 0): 1. If the client closes its socket after connecting to the server, the internal child TCP control the Server spawns doesn't always close. 2. If I call Close() on the Server and then destroy the object (with delete) the client app socket frequently times out waiting for the connection to close. Both the server and client are running on Win2k SP4. I would welcome any possible explanations/solutions you can provide.
