posted August 17, 2001 12:53 PM Our PowerBuilder application using the FTP control was working fine until I obtained an update for the control from your site and now we're having trouble. The PB error is "Error calling external object function login." I've tried a lot of things, including uninstalling the FTP control, obtaining the latest FtpTool.exe from your site, running the installation, registering the component, removing the OLE control from the window (we're not doing CREATE), reinserting the control on the window and recompiling. Development is occurring on a Windows 2000 Professional machine. Any ideas? Thanks. |

posted August 17, 2001 4:26 PM Hi, I just tried the updated dlls with the PB FTP sample that ships with the tool. It worked without any problems. Are you able to run the sample? If not, is the machine licensed? Is it possible the trial has expired? Thanks, -ken K M Drake Dart Tech Support |

posted August 17, 2001 4:35 PM Yes, the sample works OK. I believe the machine to be licensed. We're not using a trial version. I've been working on this all day and am going brain dead. This is important - any help you can provide will be much appreciated. |

posted August 17, 2001 4:57 PM If the samples work and your app doesn't and your app does not use CREATE, that leaves only one option. The controls were inserted during the trial, or they were inserted on a different machine and the license info that PB put it doesn't match anymore. On a licensed machine, open your PB project and, one at a time, find each Dart component , select it, hit ctrl-x followed by ctrl-v (cut and paste the component) then recompile your app. Hope this helps!
