posted December 27, 2004 11:34 AM Hi, I was unable to reproduce this by sending folders of files to the sample app using IE. Can you narrow the problem down, and provide more exact duplication steps? Also, what is the version number of your DartFtpServer.dll? Thanks, -ken |

posted January 3, 2005 8:33 AM Hi 1. i removed this lines of code in the sample store event ' Don't allow anonymous If LCaseRequest.Session.User.Name) "anonymous" Then Response.Cancel Exit Sub End If 2. recompile 3. put the exe in a empty directory and run 4. connect from a client pc 5. upload a directory structure with lots of files 6. server: after handling some files 10 or 20 also more, the system crashes with exception 5 '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' when you remove all code in the store and list event no crash will occur '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' if i make only a time consumption loop in the store event like this ' Dim i As Integer ' For i = 1 To 1000 ' Debug.Print i ' End If the problem comes again. posted January 3, 2005 9:57 AM Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce this using the steps you supplied. Please try to determine if it has something to do with the types of files or whether they are in use. Once you have pinpointed the problem, modify the sample FtpServer so it fails, then zip up the source and send it to support@dart.com. Include a description of what types/sizes and number of files are required. |

posted January 4, 2005 9:22 AM Hi I have send a sample to the support .... i have also found a workaround for the problem. setting the compatiblity property for the Exe at win95 or even win2000, no crash occurs! Mauri |

posted January 4, 2005 10:19 AM Thanks. I see it too. However, it's proving hard to isolate because if I build in debug mode it works (probably why compatibility mode works for you) Have you noticed any pattern? Do the files all have to be small? Is there a certain number of files where it always fails? |

posted January 4, 2005 10:49 AM Hi Tony no pattern noticed ! I have tested many different folders (with different files (size and contents) but i think it has somthing to do with havy traffic, lot of files in queue with smartftp setting to 1 threat and smal transferrate has worked too. (only tested once) Mauri |

posted March 1, 2005 9:47 AM Hi Tony Since i have a workaround for Win XP (compatiblity switch) the delay in fixing this problem was not so tragic, but now i have noticed that on windows 2000 i cannot use such a workaround because it does not exist' so it crashes like before. Also i cannot believe that im the only one in the world that have to fight with this bug. Our Customers require FTPserver to retrive Data from machines. The machines log in minutely to the server an transfer some small files to the server, and log out. This must be running 24 hours 7 day a week without user interaction. greetings Mauri |
