posted November 23, 2004 2:16 PM My attempt to create RCW for telnet component (to use in VB.NET application) failed with message “Invalid Primitive Type” (when dragging Telnet control onto the Form). I am aware regarding .NET version of Telnet component (for extra money) but anyhow-what can be the reason for the failure? Thanks |

posted November 23, 2004 2:50 PM You probably have applied the latest MS service pack for your Framework. This is a known issue and will be resolved as soon as MS releases the hotfix. For now all you cab do is uninstall the service pack. As soon as the hotfix is released I will respond here with details. |

I meant that theoretically it's possible to create RCW in 2 ways: 1) from inside VS.NET (and I failed in this way and you explained me the reason) and 2) using Tlbimp.exe utility. My question is actually regarding second option- can it help ot it's useless by the same reason? Thanks |

posted November 23, 2004 3:48 PM OK, I see now. Yes, both methods are broken until you get the hotfix. It should not be much longer until Microsoft releases it. |
