posted October 13, 2004 7:45 AM Hi there! I would like to use the emulation tool as a dumb terminal, but don't get the data through. I have used the hyperterminal of windows and the data does get through there. I have noticed that there is no option for com ports in the connection properties dialog, and there need to be an adrress specified. I don't use an URL connection. How can I set up a dumb terminal for now? Thanks |

posted October 14, 2004 2:14 AM Tony I have used the VT control (ActiveX) in the IDD_EMULATOR_FORM. When I run the application the dialog(VT Control) with heading: "No Connection - PowerTCP VT320 Emulator Client." Under the file menu the is the following options: Address: Protocol: User: Password: Local Port: Command: Is-la There no other options I see that handle serial communications. Thanks for the previous reply. Stephan |

posted October 14, 2004 7:37 AM The VT is a display, not a communications device. The sample uses our Telnet control (over TCP-IP) to do the communications. Unfortunately we don't have any serial communications controls. You may be able to use the MSCOMM control (from Microsoft, should be available on your system) to replace all the portions of the sample where we use Telnet. Or you could search for one on the Internet. |
