What is the default Payload size in bytes. It's not documented and the forums don't make it very easy to search for this information.

Ooops!

I mean to say, what is the payload size of the Ping control for the ActiveX Winsock Tool.

If I understand your question correctly, you are referring to the size of the extra data that gets sent. If so, it is 0, since no extra data is sent unless you create a new byte array and assign it to the Data property.

You understood my question perfectly.

Next question: Is the payload the same as the bytes sent when running Windows ping?

I'm not sure. I would assume so. All it is is extra data added to the end of the Ping packet.

How much data is sent in the packet?

I'm only asking because I want to understand how the Ping tool compares to Windows Ping. I'm concerned that it isn't very well documented and I cannot answer my customer questions when raised.

A ping packet is 12 bytes.
