posted September 13, 2004 5:04 PM I'm trying to install the Telnet tool on a Windows 2003 server and I get an "OLE System Update" message box that says my OLE system files need to be updated. This doesn't seem right and I'm afraid that continuing might cause an overwrite of files that should be overwritten. |

posted September 13, 2004 5:11 PM The setup program thinks it needs to run the update because of a script that was written before WS2003 came out. When the actual update program runs, it will detect that OLEAUT32 is a higher version than is needed and will exit saying that it's not necessary to update anything. In others words, it's safe to continue. However, this was fix a few months ago, which tells me you don't have the latest version of the Telnet Tool setup, so you might want to go to our site and get the latest. |

posted September 13, 2004 5:41 PM Thanks. I installed with no problem. Is there a way to search for old forum messages posted by me (like over a year ago)? |
