I have been using Dart Telnet with out fail for 3 years. Last week, someone unpluged the network switch(accidently) and pluged it back in. Now, when I connect, it gathers a few lines and then disconnects by itself. so i thought it was a network problem so I tried ComNet and ProCom and it works fine. I also tried The Dart Telnet example for VB and It did not work either. Any help would be appreciated.

When you say "It gathers a few lines" what exactly do you mean? Are you saying that you call Receive (or Search?) a couple times and then you get an error? If so, what is the error?

Have you tried using the Trace method to see exactly what is being sent and received?

Also, what exactly does unplugging the switch change? Maybe something was set by the admin 3 years ago that need to be set now that it has been reset?

Recieve(Gathers) A Few Lines I do not get an error. It goes to state 3 then 0. It does the same in Darts VB Sample but works fine in ComNet and ProCom(Does Not Disconnect and recieves all lines that are epected).
Unplug the switch meens Unpluged the Power.

It's failing the option negotiation. You to use a hex editor to see the bytes and try to figure out what part is failing.

The following help topics should provide info that will help:

OptionConstants
CommandConstants
SendCommand
Command Event
AutoOption Property

If that does not help please send a zipped up copy of your log to support@dart.com

I opened my trace file in an Hex Editor, and just what I thought, I have no idea what I'm looking for. The AutoOption proerty is set to true. I thought AutoOption was suppost to handle all the constants and negotiations.

We won't be able to solve this one on the forum. Please send the trace to support@dart.com.

Hi guys, is there any followup you could post to this. I don't want to hijack this thread or double-post if there's a known solution. It sounds like a problem I am running into as well.

I went back to an older version of Dart Telnet and it works fine now.
