posted June 13, 2004 2:25 AM Hello, I just have a simple question regarding the web tool running under Com Plus. How do you register the Dart Power TCP Web Tool under Com+? When I drag the two DLL's, DartSock.dll and DartWeb.dll into Component Services, everything appears to be fine. However, when I call the component from my Visual Basic COM+ DLL, it fails with an error message "Class doesn't support automation or class interface not recognized". If I remove the two DLL's (DartSock and DartWeb) from COM+ and just register the two dll's using RegSvr32, everything works fine. Has anyone registered this product under Com+ before? Am I just missing something or possibly doping this incorrectly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brian P. Eskra LP Software, Inc. (708) 974-2838 x101 beskra@lpguys.com |

posted June 14, 2004 11:23 AM All of our products should work OK in COM+ We made changes awhile back to facilitate that. Please download the latest Webtool from our Website and try again. Also, just so you know, the Web Tool use Wininet.dll and I was just told that you can only have two COM+ instances of a Wininet object operating at the same time. |

posted June 14, 2004 4:51 PM Hi, Thanks for the quick response. I downloaded the latest DLL's and dragged them into COM+, but when I call the Dart Component from my other MTS component, I just get the "Either this object doen't support automation or the expected interface". If I take the two Dart DLL's out of COM+, and just register them normally, everything is fine. The first question... Am I doing this correctly? By just registering the two DLL's (DartSock.dll and DartWeb.dll) in COM+? Also, is there nay special settings in COM+, that I may need to set properly? Thanks again and any help would be appreciated. posted June 16, 2004 4:36 PM I found out what's going on. The Help file has a section called "COM+/MTS" (search for MTS to find it) where it explains what to do. It also lists the components that can be used. Unfortunately the Web control is not one of them. If you need COM+ support, you should use our WebASP control (part of the WebEnterprise tool) |
