kevinamlive From: torrance, CA USA Posts: 2 Member Since: 05/25/04	posted May 28, 2004 5:49 PM I just downloaded the Sockets for .net and I am trying to use the DNS class but whenever I create the DNS object, I get this exception : An unhandled exception of type 'System.ComponentModel.LicenseException' occurred in dart.powertcp.sockets.dll I uninstalled the component and did a reinstall but the same error occurs. I am trying to use the 30 day trial so I should not get a licence error, right?

Did you follow the instructions for adding the licenses.licx file to the Project? When the component is added to a form, the file is automatically created and added. When you do not use the component on a form, you must add the file yourself. Does the DNS sample work ok (the component is on the form)? Thanks, -ken
