posted May 21, 2004 5:39 PM I have a client/server application where the client finds the location of the server by making a quick UPD Multicast request. The server, listening on the Multicast Address/Port responds with its IP address. I have a customer using the software and they are having some issues. Sometimes they can find the server without issue, but sometimes they have problems with either sending the multicast request or listening for the return. I think it is probably network/router (Cisco) related. Teh specific code where the errors crop up is: With UdpFindLogonServer .Close .Open 29981 .Join "234.5.6.7" .Send "Loc", "234.5.6.7", 29980 End With As I mentioned, they can log on sometimes, sometimes they can't. I have them looking to see if all the PCs with problems are connected to the same router, etc... Any idea of Cisco configurations that might cause these intermittent issues? |
