I have been using the dart.tcp.ftp tool for months with no problem. Recently I have been getting 10051 "A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable network". I am able to get the file successfuly with WS_FTP or through a DOS window. Any ideas of what I should research to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

What's changed on your network? New Firewall maybe? If it worked for months and suddenly stopped, then the cause has to be something that changed on your machine.

I agree that it is not your control, but a network/machine change. However, I'm not sure what questions I should put to our IT dept. I also know that I'm going to get blow back from the fact I can perform the process manually.

What type of app is it? An asp page? A service?

It is VB.NET .exe application that I wrote to automatically retreive files from various FTP servers. The dart.tcp.ftp logs in fine, changes directories and can even return the object file's size. However, when I try to get the file I get the error.

Then I would look into what changes have been done to the network. It's probably a firewall that wasn't there before.

Also, try setting the Passive property to the opposite of what it was before.

Tony,

You ROCK! The passive setting change worked! Why? I don't care it's working again! Thanks so much for your time and help.
