posted April 5, 2004 5:15 PM I'm using the PowerTCP FTP tool in an ActiveX dll (VB6). This dll is used by a program which can have a maximum of 20 simultaneous instances running. About half of these (or more) can be running the ftp-dll, so there can be as many parallel ftp-processes (to an IIS or Unix server). The error "Method ~ of object ~ failed" happens pretty often in which case the program has to be restarted (error keeps repeating). The dll is running on a Windows 2000 Server with SP4. Versions: DartFTP.dll 1.8.0.6 and DartSock.dll 2.8.0.4 Any suggestions as to what can be the problem or what I might be able to do about it? My client is getting desperate! Any help is appreciated! |

posted April 5, 2004 5:33 PM That's a really general error that I think happens when Windows either has trouble instantiating the object or there is some sort of catastrophic error inside the DLL that we did not intercept. I would try limiting the simultaneous instances first to see if that helps. If you are not able to do that, then you will need to reduce it down to a program that duplicates the problem at will and is simple enough for us to diagnose here. If you need to send us something, the address is support@dart.com. |
