Using Service Control V. 1.8.0.4 in VFP, on most machines works fine. However, on a few W2000 Server and W2003 Server machines, the State event, while already running, will fire every 20-30 seconds and return Running again! This confounded me for several days because it kept resetting my timer control...Any idea why this happens? I've got a workarounf but am concerned about such volatility....

I think I remember another customer having this problem but as I recall we never came to a resolution. They ended up using a workaround that is probably similar to yours. Sorry I don't have more for you.

I've just started experiencing the same issue here. About every 10 seconds, the State event fires with a service Running state.

I'm running the secure FTP server control via the service control on a Server 2003 machine.

Unfortunately, whenever the state event fires for serviceRunning, I'm calling the Start method on the secure FTP server, which kills all current connections.

I know I can add code to only do this if the state actually changed, but I'd sure like to know the root cause. Anyone ever figure this one out?
