posted December 16, 2003 1:49 PM I have been playing with the FTPListView and love it, but there is one thing I can't find. The listview shows the file size, but is it possible to estimate the time it will take to download it? I want to do this before the user starts the download. I'm using the ActiveX control in VB6. |

posted December 17, 2003 5:21 PM It would be pretty hard to guess the total time without some statistics on past performance. What I would do is calculate the average transfer rate (like the sample does) then use that to determine how much is left. Microsoft does this when you download a file using IE. |
