Trying to figure out how to use SOCKS proxy support with web tool. In the help files it says if Internet Explorer is installed SOCKS support is available. Does this mean you can't specify a certain SOCKS proxy at design time?

The Web Tool uses Wininet.dll, so it uses whatever proxy IE uses. I don't think IE uses SOCKS for doing HTTP requests. At least I have never figured out how.

If you really need Socks support, I'd suggest looking at the Web Enterprise tool instead. The non-WININET based WebASP control supports SOCKS.

Tony thanks for the quick reply, I'll look into the enterprise tool.
