Topic: OCX LPK file won't download to HTTPs site

I have created an OCX using VB6 and the WebTool. I am using the OCX I created on a web page. When clients hit the page via HTTP the CAB file installs just fine, and I everything works fine. The LPK file also seems to download and work correctly. When I try the exact same page with HTTPS I get the Dart "Trial License" message. The server is an Win2K IIS machine. It's exactly the same web service that can be accessed via HTTP or HTTPS. Any thoughts. I'm thinking it's an IIS configuration issue but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Hi Dennis,
First, I do not think this has anything to do with Https. I suspect that you will see eventually see the error with Http as well (the trial message only pops up every hour or so).

Make sure this is indeed a problem with the LPK. Try using your control in an exe and distributing it conventionally. If you see a trial, there is a license issue with the control itself. If you do not see the trial, the problem lies with the LPK.

Experience has shown that the majority of LPK problems arise when the .lpk was created for the Dart control, not the user's control, as is required.
If this advise and the steps outlined in our KB article ( http://support.dart.com/KBDetail.dwp1 )
do not help, we can offer assistance with purchase of a Priority Support Package, as detailed help in the use of Microsoft's tool falls outside the scope of this forum.
