I'm using your trial versions of PowerTCP 16-bit, version 4.0 control to build a Client application and your Daemon 32bit control to build a Server application in VB. The TCP / IP connection works great when the Cleint is on a NT 4.0 machine and Sever is on an XP machine. I cannot get the Client and Server to connect when either application is run on a Win 98 or Win 2000 machine. I have installed the trial versions of PowerTCP on the other machines, but the app will not connect. I then tried using you Sample echo program (16-bit) to test the echo connection between various machine, but I have the same results - works between NT and XP but not between Win 98 and Win 2000. The sample echo program returns an diagnostics of "Connection Refused". The machines all have a good physical connection.

I'm I missing a file or some resource. Can you help?

Thanks

Eric

If you were missing any files, you'd get an error message, so that's not the problem.

There must be something different about the network setup of the 98 and 2000 machines. Probably something to do with DNS and/or firewall configuration.

Also, if you have further questions, please post in the appropriate forum. This is for the Winsock Tool. You have PowerTCP Pro.
