I know that your product states to install the DCOM98 files from microsoft. This however is a large pain because it complicates the instalation of my program.

I was just wondering:
The only control i will be using is Dartweb.dll along with (dartsock.dll) to do a connection to a web site and download a file via http (no passwords or usernames). This is all that i will have the dart control do. With these instructions, is the dcom98 file that important to install on my customers computer?

If your end-users have IE 4 or higher there is no need to install DCOM. The only thing it's used for is updating the OLE related files.

IE does the same thing when you install it.
