posted September 16, 2003 1:30 PM I'm writing an NT Service in .NET and I'm using the RAS object to connect to the internet, hit a webservice and do some work, then disconnect. This is done with a timer so I'm constantly connecting and disconnecting. Most of the time everything works fine, but there are times when I get the error rasPortNotAvailable. When this happens, I'm in a hosed state and never seem to be able to connect. The only thing that cures it is a reboot. Now, it's ok if I get this error but I want to be able to clear the port and start over without having to reboot. Is there something I should/could do to prevent/fix this? Thanks! |

posted September 16, 2003 2:04 PM Not sure if I can duplicate it or not. I could try but I don't have the time right now. I guess I'm looking for some strategies when dealing with errors like this. I'm not saying it's a bug or a problem but I would like to know the best course of action when dealing with these types of Ras errors. thanks |

posted September 16, 2003 2:09 PM Unfortunately the only answer I can give is "do whatever works". I've never used RAS to the extent that you are. |
